Laverne Shelton has worked at CMI for over 43 years! In her role in the small assembly department, Laverne connects wiring to the transformer cores according to order specifications, ensuring efficiency and quality throughout the process. Her focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence helps drive productivity and supports the company’s commitment to delivering high-performance transformer solutions.
When Laverne Shelton started working at Central Moloney in 1978, just a year after graduating high school, she never imagined it would turn into a lifelong career. Over the past four decades, Laverne has dedicated herself to the company, taking on diverse roles and witnessing the evolution of the business firsthand.
She began as a core former, a demanding role that required both precision and care. From stud welder to paper room coordinator and grinder in the weld shop, Laverne has shown her versatility and willingness to embrace new challenges. Her dedication has enabled her to provide for herself and her two sons as a single parent, enjoy dozens of cruises and vacations, and own multiple homes.
Laverne’s experience at Central Moloney is defined by a deep sense of loyalty and family. She describes the company culture as “wonderful” and “where you want to be,” grateful for the support and flexibility she’s received over the years.
Now in her 60s, Laverne has no plans to retire. She finds pride and purpose in training new employees, sharing the wisdom she’s gained from decades of experience. Laverne’s story is a powerful testament to the value of long-term dedication and the personal and professional rewards of committing to a single organization. Her unwavering commitment to Central Moloney is inspiring!
